Being prepared should be a necessity, not an option. Realizing some things we can control and others we can't and living every day in a prepared mode can be a rewarding experience.
The cost of "Food and Fuel" is, for the most part, out of our control. Mortgages and taxes are also fixed monthly expenses. Vehicle cost, insurance and operating expense (gas) consume a large percentage of our take-home pay. Cost of living increases 3% a year and unless our wages also increase 3% we have less buying power. This is of course is the "Slippery Slope" to a lower quality of life. All is fine until there is an interruption in our daily routine. "HYDRO FAILURE" should be our biggest concern. No heat, no light, no water, no gas being pumped. Fridges and deep freezes thaw and no cook stove. Two or three days of this would be very uncomfortable, longer than that would be unbearable.
Whats the solution? Break our dependency with HYDRO !!!!! Or at least have a back-up system.
No water in so "No Water Out." No water to cook or clean and no water to flush our toilets. Water storage is the first consideration to being prepared. PROPANE is a good source of fuel for emergencies. Propane generators, stoves, furnaces or heaters is an absolute must.
